We just raised the monthly credit allowance on every Picoko plan. No price changed. This affects you whether you're on Free, Starter, Pro, or Business — your next API call will give you the new limit automatically.
What changed
| Plan | Was | Now | Bump |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 5 credits / month | 10 | +100% |
| Starter ($29/mo) | 60 credits / month | 100 | +67% |
| Pro ($99/mo) | 300 credits / month | 500 | +67% |
| Business ($299/mo) | 1000 credits / month | 1800 | +80% |
Each image generation still costs 1 credit; each video still costs 5. Bonus credit packs and yearly subscriptions are unchanged.
Why we did this
Two reasons, both honest.
First, we had a quiet pricing inversion. Our 100-credit pack costs $0.45 per credit. Our Starter subscription used to cost $0.48 per credit ($29 ÷ 60). For anyone paying close attention, the subscription was actually worse per credit than buying packs — the only thing the subscription added was auto-renewal. That's a broken value proposition. After the bump, Starter is now $0.29 per credit, which is 35% cheaper than the cheapest pack. Pro lands at $0.20/credit, Business at $0.17/credit. The subscription ladder finally rewards committing.
Second, the Free tier was too tight. Five credits is roughly two product photos plus one video — not enough to actually feel out the toolkit. The most common drop-off point we saw was "user generates 2–3 images, hits the wall, never comes back." Ten credits gives you room to try product_photography + background_change + flat_lay + a video, all in one session. That's a complete workflow, not a sample.
What this means for you
If you're on Free: Your remaining credits this month are recalculated against the new 10-credit limit, so if you've used 4 already, you have 6 left (not 1). Try a real workflow now — pair product_photography with background_change to put the same product in three different scenes.
If you're on Starter: You picked up 40 extra credits/month for nothing. That's roughly 8 more product videos, or 40 more images, every month. No action needed — your next request just gets the higher cap.
If you're on Pro: 200 extra credits/month. With Pro at $0.20/credit, you're now sitting at the same price tier as Midjourney Standard ($0.20) and Ideogram Plus ($0.15–0.20) — except you also get product video, background editing, and the rest of the toolkit in the same pool.
If you're on Business: 800 extra credits/month. At $0.17/credit you have meaningful room to run high-volume catalogs and 360-video shoots without hitting limits. Thanks for being on the highest tier — the bump is largest here on purpose.
What didn't change
- Prices. Same monthly and yearly rates across all plans.
- Stripe billing. Existing subscriptions, payment methods, invoices, and renewal dates are unaffected.
- Bonus credit packs. 50/$25, 100/$45, 250/$99 — pack prices stay where they were.
- Refund policy. 14-day money-back guarantee on paid plans is unchanged.
- Per-tool credit costs. Image = 1 credit, video = 5 credits. Same as before.
A note on $/credit and where this puts us
Picoko's credit covers any tool — image generation, model photography, background editing, upscaling, magic erase, flat lay, and video — drawn from one shared pool. That's worth comparing against tools that price per-feature:
- Midjourney Standard: ~$0.20 per image (single-purpose)
- Ideogram Plus: ~$0.15–0.20 per image (image-only)
- Runway Standard: ~$0.50 per credit (video-heavy)
- Picoko Pro: $0.20 per credit (any of 8 tools, image or video)
- Picoko Business: $0.17 per credit (any of 8 tools, image or video)
We're not the cheapest per-image option in the market and we're not trying to be. We are now the most pound-for-pound capable subscription if you do mixed product-photography work — model shots, background changes, video clips — out of one allowance.
What's next
We're not planning more pricing changes for at least six months. The next thing we want to ship is higher resolution exports for paid tiers and a couple of new tools (already in build). If you'd like to be in the loop when those land, you can opt in to update emails from your settings page.
In the meantime — you have more credits today than yesterday. Open the app and use them.
